General Notes
- All solid black should be encoded at 100% black plus 30% cyan.
- Material should be supplied in order to compensate for a dot gain of 20% to 25%.
- Colour screens of less than 10% and lines thinner than 0.5pi may not print.
Media File Formats
Ads should be submitted in either PDF, EPS or TIFF format. JPEG, PSD and INDD files are also acceptable.
The DPS uses the Macintosh-versions of the following software:
- Adobe Acrobat: Save PDFs using the [High Quality Print] preset: 300DPI compression, high image quality.
- Adobe Photoshop: Save Photoshop TIFF (without layers), EPS and JPEG files at a minimum 300DPI resolution. JPEGs should be encoded at maximum compression quality (12).
- Adobe Illustrator: Convert fonts to paths, embed all images, save as an Illustrator EPS with level 2 postscript.
- Adobe InDesign: INDD files should be provided with all graphics and Postscript fonts. All images should be converted to CMYK. Scan images at a minimum 300DPI.
Submitting Media
Media up to 10MB should be sent by email at ads@dailypublications.org. Larger files can be sent via compact disc to our office, dropped in on a USB key, or sent through YouSendIt.

The DPS is the independent, student-run publisher of The McGill Daily and Le Délit at McGill University in Montréal. Its membership includes most McGill undergrad students, and many graduate students. This website details the administrative side of the DPS' operations.
